We are pleased to invite you to the new lecture “Indigenous Science and Impact Assessment” held by Myrle Ballard from the University of Calgary (Canada).
Myrle Ballard is an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary, Canada. Her talk will consider the “Three-Eyed Seeing” framework in the field of Impact Assessment. This approach integrates three perspectives for a more holistic understanding of the environment, including the evaluation of project impacts. It combines the strengths of Indigenous science, Western science, and the “lens of our relations,” which gives a voice to non-human entities like plants, animals, and land.
The lecture is organized in the framework of the course “Environmental Conflicts, Climate Justice and Social Impact Assessment” of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programme CCD-STeDe (Climate Change and Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development) and is part of the GEOnovember initiative.
It will be held on Friday the 7th of November | 14 – 15.30 (GMT + 1).
Introduced and coordinated by: Prof. Alberto Diantini from University of Padova.
The lecture will be live on YouTube and it will be held in English.
