We are pleased to invite you to the new lecture ‘The Kurdish question: a focus on Bakur and Rojava – An alternative project of social and political organization based on democracy, women and ecology’.
The lecturer for this seminar will be Federico Venturini, Research Associate at the University of Udine (Italy), whose current research focuses on sustainability, social ecology and participatory processes. As activist-researcher he took part in many fact finding missions in Bakur/Turkey e Bashur/Iraq. He co-edited with Thomas Jeffrey Miley the book Your Freedom and Mine: Abdullah Ocalan and the Kurdish Question in Erdogan’s Turkey and with Emet Degirmenci and Inés Morales the volume Social Ecology and the Right to the City: Towards Ecological and Democratic Cities.
The lecture is organized in the framework of the course “Alternatives to development and territorial practices of post-development” of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programme CCD-STeDe (Climate Change and Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development) and is part of the GEOnovember initiative.
The conference will be held on Wednesday the 8th of November | 15 – 16.30 (GMT + 1)
